So if you've found your way here you're looking for the gory details of how we do the streaming and what gear we use, right? Whilst our equipment does change and get updated fairly regularly I'll do my best to give you as much information as I can - if you get bored at any point just click this handy button:

Cameras

Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema 4K - These combine perfectly with the vision switcher we use and allow a huge amount of colour grading and remote camera control, meaning we can match them to the look of any other camera in our system.
Canon camcorders - Great versatile pro video cameras with a huge zoom range allowing us to go from very wide shots of a scene to intimate close-ups, adding variety to our production and keeping your audience engaged.

Sound

What microphones we bring to your event will very much depend on the requirements, but these are a few typical choices at our disposal:
Rode NTG2 - TV / film set boom mic
​SE Electronics SE7s - cardioid condenser mics with very low noise-floor
Shure SM58 - industry standard vocal mic, especially for singing
Sennheiser handheld radio transmitter - wireless microphone when you need options
Hollyland Lark - wireless lavalier system for mobile talking events

Mixing and Streaming

At Stream Craft we are all about using hardware data encoders whenever possible. These are more reliable than using software like OBS or VMix and our current mixer of choice is:
ATEM Mini Extreme ISO - This is the latest release from broadcast experts, Blackmagic Design. This is an 8-input, 1080p vision mixer with a lot extras built in. It allows us to stream to any web location whilst simultaneously recording all the camera sources to a local hard-drive, which in turn allows us to re-edit a livestream afterwards should we need/want to.

Computers & Software

Apple Macs are our computers of choice and we travel with iMacs and MacBook Pros depending on the requirements (with a PC laptop or two thrown in for good measure when needed!).
​QLab - Professional theatre show systems software which we use for the playback of video and audio which could include a pre-event welcome screen, feature graphics and images, or pre-recorded video messages. Using our system we can often display this content on location at the venue as well as in the livestream.

Other Networking

We love to plan and automate tasks so by enabling all of our equipment to 'talk' to each other we can carry out impressive sets of synchronised actions and allowing for slicker-looking productions.
​Stream Deck XL - Many of these functions are triggered by this useful button box which has dynamically changing buttons which can trigger multiple tasks simultaneously.
Travel router - We always carry our own router with it's own subnetwork when we attach to a venue's network. This keeps our equipment functioning in a stable manner and also adds a layer of security protection from unwanted network traffic.
