Can I get a video message played at my Zoom event?

It’s quite likely you will have thought about including some kind of video message at your Zoom event, or even putting together a mini video production with your friends. I get asked a lot whether I can play back these for everyone to see. Fortunately I can!

You may have seen or used the screen-sharing features of Zoom before and perhaps you imagine that’s the way it can be done? Well, that is one way, however there is a better way . . .

Boring geeky bit coming up.
TL;DR version is “Yes, I can provide video playback.” Just ask me about it when you enquire!

There are a couple of problems with using screen-share in Zoom to playback video. The first is that Zoom generally assumes you are sharing a computer monitor and so reduces the frame-rate it displays. This can often make the video stutter and not playback smoothly.

The second is the implementation just doesn’t look very pro - it can often show the playback controls and the transitions between the live action and playback are pretty clunky. At Stream Craft we’re in the business of making as professional a broadcast as possible and it looks much better if we can seamlessly mix between live footage of the featured speakers at the event and video playback.
By using a dedicated laptop running professional theatre production software we’re able to bring that feed into a video switcher and incorporate it into the main program out for the viewer, no screen-sharing required! Which also means we can apply mix or other professional transition effects.  It's even possible to make recorded messages appear live, with a little forethought ;-)

So whether you want to play back a couple of short messages or a fully edited mini-blockbuster we’ve got you covered. And if you need any help putting the content together that’s no problem either.

Send us a message to talk about putting together your live-streamed event.
